Liverpool Development Club suffered its first league defeat when it faced Buhle Park All-Stars in a Germiston Super League encounter.

The two went head to head on January 22 fighting to record their first win of the year in the league.

Buhle Park 5-4, after leading 2-1 at halftime.

The game was tied at 4-4 before Buhle Park scored the winner just in the dying minutes of the match.

Liverpool head coach Lucky Muthelo was disappointed by the defeat but said he remained proud of the players.

“The game was so much fun with nine goals scored,” said Muthelo.

“The boys played well and showed the hunger and desire to win. I am still proud of the overall performance of the players.”

“This is a learning curve for the boys,” said Muthelo.

The Germiston Super League matches will take place at the Germiston Stadium every Saturday and Sunday from 08:00.
