The Dare To Care Soup Kitchen in Klopperpark celebrated Valentine’s Day n style by inviting elders from the community to a special treat.

The soup kitchen hosted the pensioner’s masked ball on February 13. A celebrity guest was invited to entertain the audience.

Vanessa Spassov, the founder of the soup kitchen, said that the guests enjoyed a day filled with fun and laughter and walked home with goodie bags.

“The day started with Pastor Jeanette Viljoen ministering the word of God,” said Spassov.

“Our surprise guest was Jacques Blignaut who plays the character of Vince Meintjies on 7de Laan. He introduced a game show where the pensioners had a chance to win prizes. The elderly then enjoyed a delicious meal.

“During the event, pensioners were treated to a manicure session, they enjoyed that treat. At the end pensioners received a goodie bag with toiletries,” said Spassov.
