Youth arm young people with knowledge on how to start a business
Youth Build focuses on youth aged 17 to 29, who are out of school, out of work and are either underprivileged or living in poverty.
Ward 35 Clr Ntuthuzelo Mpambani, in partnership with Youth Build South Africa, hosted a youth business workshop on February 18 in Dukathole.

The aim was to offer information to young people looking to start a business.
Mpambani said this workshop was crucial for the ward because of unemployment.
“As a councillor, my duty is more than just service delivery. I also have to look at the well-being of the residents, and the youth of Dukathole need assistance. We need to find ways to assist them in either starting businesses or upskilling them. Youth Build is offering perfect programmes,” said Mpambani.
Paballo Diboke, Youth Build South Africa placement coordinator, said starting a business does not always have to be a new idea but can be an improvement of an old idea.

He encouraged the youth to look around the community and see what problems they can solve.
“Some businesses are born from old ideas. When you want to start a business, you must always ask yourself what problems you are solving and how it’s going to benefit the customer. That way, you will offer something that is in demand or that is a need,” said Diboke.
