Fire services used specialised equipment to free a man from this vehicle on the scene of a collision involving four vehicles.

Six people were injured on the N17 in Germiston on February 27 when four vehicles collided shortly before midnight.

ER24 and other services found the four vehicles in the middle of the road, one on its roof.

Russel Meiring from ER24 said on closer inspection, paramedics found a man trapped inside one vehicle, while five other patients were seated near their vehicles.

“The entrapped man was in a critical condition, while the five others had sustained moderate injuries. Fire services had to use specialised equipment to free the man from the vehicle.

“Medics treated the patients and provided the critically injured man with advanced life support. After treatment, the patients were transported to hospitals,” said Meiring.
