Ace Tennis Academy (ATA), in partnership with Ekhurhuleni Tennis School of Excellence ( ETSOE), will host the Werner Vermeulen Memorial Grand Prix tennis challenge from March 19 to September 24.

Junior players are invited to enter the tournament. It will consist of nine individual tournaments throughout the year with point allocations for participation in tournaments carried forward to the finals on September 24, where the winners and runners-up in all age categories will be determined and prizes distributed.

ETSOE founder Loyiso Mantsha said each individual tournament will also have age and category prizes up for grabs.

“Entry fee for each individual tournament is R150 for academy players and R200 for other players.”

More information on each tournament will be communicated.

• March 19, closing date for entries March 12 at Alberton Tennis Club, singles – hard court
• March 21, closing date for entries March 14 at Alberton Tennis Club, doubles hard court
• April 18, closing date for entries April 11 at Germiston Tennis Club, singles hard court
• April 27, closing date for entries April 20 at Alberton Tennis Club/Alberton High School, doubles – grass
• May 7, closing date for entries April 30 at Germiston Tennis Club, doubles hard court
• May 29, closing date for entries May 22 at Alberton Tennis Club, singles hard court, time based
• July 2, closing date for entries June 25 at Germiston Tennis Club, singles hard court, time based
• September 3, closing date for entries August 25 at Alberton Tennis Club, singles handicap
• September 24 finals, closing date for entries September 17 at Alberton Tennis Club and Germiston Tennis Club, singles Monrad draw, doubles Monrad draw.
