Young Boys FC win their first game in the league

FBS goalkeeper Karabelo ‘Zozo’ Motloung perfumed well in covering for his defenders and made a brilliant save after Young Boys strikers penetrated them on a counter-attack.

Young Boys FC registered their first win at an away game in the Katlehong Local Football Association Super League during their encounter against FBS FC at Botsotso Soccer Ground in Hlahatse Section, Katlehong, on March 13.

The visitors took the lead in the first half when Sibusiso ‘Chanku’ Ndunyenywua scored the only goal of the match. FBS goalkeeper Karabelo ‘Zozo’ Motloung perfumed well in covering for his defenders and made a brilliant save after Young Boys strikers penetrated them on a counter-attack.

FBS FC became more effective in the second half; however, Young Boys goalkeeper Yongama ‘Chipezeza’ Makile was determined to keep a clean sheet.

Young boys (red) collected three points during their league clash against FBS FC.

The match concluded with Young Boys collecting three points from the 1-0 narrow victory against FBS.
Young Boys FC head coach Anele Pete said they won what he described as a very tough game.

He said the game was a learning curve for him as the coach.

“Today’s game made me realise the lack of experience and with FBS, you would know that they come with experienced players. Our rivals picked up during the game.

“I feel happy with the performance. They were mentally ready for the game, but I could see that in the second half, they were tired but they tried. I picked up that we lacked on the middle field and the central defence,” said Pete.

Head coach of FBS FC Vusi Kekana said their performance was poor, and the result shows it.

Players battle for position in the middle of the park.

“I feel we lack a few quality players because some of our players are still young and are not there yet.

“This is our first encounter with Young Boys in the super league. I remember we played them in the junior leagues. Now, it is different in the super league as they have a different squad. It is fascinating,” said Kekana.
