Alf and Marie Fowlds celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 9.

The couple tied the knot in 1972 in Germiston, where they still reside.

The two lovebirds met through an old friend who organised a blind date on their behalf, and soon they started dating.

Through their marriage, they have been blessed with two children – a boy and a girl. They have four grandchildren.

Marie said she and her husband both grew up in Primrose and attended local schools.
