Police impersonators arrested

False number plates and police badges were found in their possession.

Three suspects were arrested by CPS Security’s tactical unit on April 7 in Black Reef Road in Katlehong.

According to sales director of CPS Security Tyrone van der Merwe, their tactical members were dispatched after a Glenvista CPF member spotted a vehicle possibly matching the description of a vehicle involved in vehicle hijackings on the N12 and N3 highways.

“Our team intercepted the vehicle after a short high-speed chase,” said van der Merwe.

Members found false number plates and police badges in their possession.

These were found in the suspects’ possession.

SAPS was contacted and the three men were arrested.

“Job well done, everyone. Thank you to Glenvista CPF for the assistance.”
