Vosloorus SAPS strengthens partnership with communities

SAPS embarks on a door-to-door crime prevention awareness campaign.

Vosloorus SAPS and stakeholders joined forces to strengthen their partnership with the community as they embarked on a door-to-door crime prevention awareness campaign in Basothong Section, Vosloorus, on April 8.

According to Vosloorus SAPS communications officer Const Nompumelelo Nhlapo, they engaged and addressed the community on problematic and social issues that lead to criminal activities within the community, as well as building trust between the community and the police in working together to fight crime.

Nhalpo explained their focus was on substance abuse, gender-based violence and reporting corrupt police officers. She said the consequences of these crimes were strongly emphasised.

Vosloorus Social Crime Prevention, CPF, Patrollers, EMPD, Ithemba Organization, GBV Brigades, Ekupholeni, Wheels of Change, Yahap NPO and the City of Ekurhuleni conduct a crime prevention awareness campaign.

The stakeholders included Social Crime Prevention, CPF, Patrollers, EMPD, Ithemba Organisation, GBV Brigades, Ekupholeni, Wheels of Change, Yahap NPO and the City of Ekurhuleni.

Pamphlets from different stakeholders were distributed and community members were encouraged to work with the police officials in the fight against crimes.
