WATCH: Forgy Mokapala strengthens women’s empowerment

#BuildAWoman is a movement aimed at empowering women. The movement hosted an event on April 9.

Forgy Mokalapa Events of Honor victoriously hosted the #BuildAWoman movement at The Balcony restaurant and pub in the Motloung section in Katlehong on April 9.

The event aimed to heal and inspire women through heart-to-heart conversations.

Founder of the #BuildAWoman, Forgy Mokalapa, said that the most important lesson the ladies had to take on the day was the power of rising and doing whatever it takes to get things done.

“This was the first time that I sat down with the guest and asked personal questions in the history of #BuildAWoman and I am enthralled with how it went,” said Mokalapa.

The event targeted 30 women attending the initiative and at least more than 30 women attended the event and shared their real-life stories.

Zaar Mabuto-Oladipo was the guest speaker, with far more than 22 years of experience as a strategic transformation executive in the areas of leadership, operations, sales, and business growth.

Mabuto-Oladipo shared her life story and past experiences before going to a question-and-answer session with Forgy.

According to Zaar, women need to find their power and dig deep inside in every challenge to fulfil their passions in life.

“Every woman has a story to tell which can encourage, empower, educate and equip other women. Our stories as women can build rather than break,” said Zaar.

During the session, women were served a Bisque hot soup to warm their bodies as a starter.

Khanyisile Mkhwanazi and Tiisetso Babie also attended the event all the way from Vosloorus.

Mrs South Africa semi-finalist, Neo Motsapi, also gathered with the large group of ladies to celebrate the day.

Motsapi said that the women empowerment movements resonate with her and her passion. She was captured by the #BuildAWoman movement and could not resist but to attend and be built because learning never stops.

“I strongly believe that if grown women can open up to young women/girls on life experiences, this will make young girls grow, be able to navigate life and enjoy confidence in whatever decision they take in life,” said Motsapi.

Mokalapa concluded that the event was magical. She further said that the event fulfilled its purpose, which was to build women of all ages meanwhile #BuildAWoman’s vision was met.

Women who managed to come through were happy to be part of the event.

Mamosa Moretsele (33) said that she learnt that women are more powerful together and if they unite they can run the world and make it a better place.
