Katlehong police conduct GBV awareness campaign in sector four

The campaign was more focused on the victims and people who happen to witness GBV.

Katlehong North SAPS sector managers, together with social worker Nonhlanhla Mashinini and the patrollers, embarked on a gender-based violence (GBV) door to door campaign, at Tsolo section, in sector four, on May 10.

According to Katlehong North communication officer Sgt Sibusiso Mazibuko, the campaign was more focused on the victims and people who happen to witness the GBV pandemic on daily basis but fail to report on behalf of the victims.

Mazibuko said during the campaign police explained to the community that if a person witnesses an act of GBV but fails to report it on behalf of the victims, that individual is no different to the perpetrator of such a crime.
