Two offenders arrested for possession of dagga in Elsburg

During the stop-and-search operations, one man at the corner of Voortrekker and Mare streets was found hiding packets of dagga while sitting on the street corner.

Elsburg SAPS, Vispol Support and CPF members took to the streets of Elsburg with the mission to fight crime on July 14.

“We focused on drugs and shebeens,” said Elsburg police spokesperson Daphney Phooko.

During the stop-and-search operations, one man at the corner of Voortrekker and Mare streets was found hiding packets of dagga while sitting on the street corner.

“He used the newspaper to disguise himself as if he was reading the newspaper.

“A woman was found on Mare Street, also sitting on a chair and when officers searched her they found seven packets of dagga in her possession. Both were arrested.”
