Anthea Weinerlein has been appointed principal of Assumption Convent School with effect from January 1, 2023.

In the interim Anthea is working closely with and alongside the school’s current principal, Mr Workman to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.
Anthea, a graduate of Wits University, has taught for over 30 years both in South Africa and internationally.
She has taught in government, independent, co-ed and girls’ and boys’ schools.
Anthea has been actively involved in numerous leadership programmes, school clubs and societies.
For many years, she has been an IEB matric examiner.
Anthea first joined Assumption Convent School in 2007.
She is currently the school’s deputy principal of the high school and a member of the school’s board of governors.
Marinella Sousa, marketing manager for Assumption Convent School said while at the school, Anthea has earned a reputation as an outstanding leader and educationalist.

“She has developed an intimate understanding and appreciation of the ethos, values and vision of our school.”
Marinella said Anthea has and will continue to have complete support from the school’s team of managers, teachers and support staff.
“Assumption Convent School will continue to be a caring and kind place of teaching and learning,” highlighted Marinella.
