On August 20, toiletries and school shoes were distributed to boys at Tembisa High School as a part of the campaign.

learners received toothbrushes, socks, deodorants, lotions, school shoes, towels, tooth paste and soaps.

“When individuals donate to the community, boys are typically excluded,” said Nkosi.

“Girls are given preferential treatment when receiving donations like sanitary pads, clothes, and cosmetics.

“People forget that boys can also receive toiletries as they also feel intimidated at school due to poor hygiene.”

“Despite how society chooses to view him, the boy child nonetheless has vulnerabilities.

“He should be treated wisely since, like the girl-child, he is a child.

“We shouldn’t just sit back and assume that he will figure things out on his own just because he is a boy,“ said Nkosi.
