The siblings attend Hoërskool Goudrif. They share a common interest in performing arts.

The visit is scheduled for January 3 to 7.

Owam (17) is in Grade 12 and she loves singing, and Smanye (14) is in Grade Nine and enjoys modelling and acting.

On September 17 they entered the IPOP auditions through the DMH modelling agency.

IPOP promotes emerging talent to leading agents, managers, casting directors, and music industry professionals.

IPOP is a five-day talent convention hosted in Hollywood biannually.

Owam said shortly after the auditions they were informed that they had done well.

Because they are minors, they will have to travel with their mother, Timo Slindile Madikizela.

Timo said she was excited to receive news about her daughters going overseas.

“This is a life-changing opportunity for all of us and I couldn’t be more proud as a parent,” said Timo.

Smanye is also the current Teen Universe International Pageant finalist in the pre-teen category.

She continues doing her charity work and fundraising for the pageant. She is also raising funds for their USA trip as it comes at a cost.

On October 13 and 14, she hosted pageant events at Hawks Academy and Institute Status Acres Combined School.

Timo said because they are required to cover the travelling expenses, they called on the community for support.

“This is a once and a lifetime opportunity for my girls, which would mean a lot if they get to travel to America,” said Timo.
