Earlier in the month, on July 8, in partnership with Hingham Field Village and Jeppe Quondam Estate, the foundation donated food, clothing, blankets, cutlery, and groceries to Die Anker Koshuis Old Age Home in Germiston after a fire destroyed the facility.

Govender acknowledged the support of Pampers, Covenant Fellowship Church International and Dream Centre in making these donations possible.

“When we give, we experience a unique joy that releases endorphins in our brains, making us feel happier and more fulfilled.

“It allows us to connect deeply with others and fosters unity and compassion within our communities,” Govender said.

“Many people on the streets are forced to stay there, longing for a chance at a normal life. One man expressed his gratitude for a hot meal, saying it discourages him from stealing or breaking into homes.

“Others, who have come from other countries, feel embarrassed to return home empty-handed,” Govender shared.

Govender appealed to the community for assistance. “We plead with the community to assist where possible.”
