Police warn residents of house robberies during load-shedding

This campaign follows after an influx of house robbery cases.

Katlehong police warn residents of Siphamandla informal settlement at Katlehong to be vigilant of house robberies during load-shedding.

The police conducted a door-to-door campaign on September 21. Katlehong South SAPS sector managers, reservists and social crime prevention coordinators were involved.

According to the station’s media liaison officer Constable Sivenkosi Mtwa, this campaign follows after an influx of house robbery cases.

At least three cases have been reported on September 18 whereby three different houses were ransacked by three suspects.

He said these incidents happened in the same block of houses that are not far from each other.

“Police have since received the description of three men who are the alleged suspects, one of them allegedly carries a firearm,” said Mtwa.

“We request anyone who might have information that may lead to the arrest of these suspects to contact our crime stop line on 08600 10111, alternatively use the MySAPS app that can be downloaded from any smartphone.”
