13 undocumented foreign nationals arrested in city-wide EMPD operation

Thirteen undocumented foreign nationals were apprehended in Ekurhuleni.

EMPD Specialised Services Units members apprehended 13 undocumented foreign nationals in operations across the city between September 29 and October 5.

The arrests were part of a broader effort to curb the influx of undocumented individuals entering and living in SA.

Officers held patrols in known hotspot areas to focus on compliance with immigration laws.

Upon being questioned, all 13 had no valid passports, documentation or satisfactory explanations for their lack of legal status in SA.
Immigration services will further investigate their identities and nationalities.

The individuals face charges contravening the Immigration Act and will appear in courts in the jurisdictions where they were arrested.
