JMPD Tactical Response Unit officers arrested six men after intervening in a standoff involving a stripped motorcycle believed to have been stolen, as part of ongoing efforts to combat vehicle-related crime in Johannesburg.
Six suspects have been arrested in Yeoville after officers from the JMPD Tactical Response Unit (TRU) intervened in a case involving a stolen motorcycle.
According to JMPD, TRU officers received information that Tracker members required back-up while following up on a stolen motorcycle in Hunter Street.
The officers proceeded to the scene, where they found Tracker members standing off with six men next to a bakkie carrying a stripped motorcycle.

When questioned, one of the men allegedly claimed that he had bought the motorcycle and was transporting it to Zimbabwe. JMPD said the suspect was unable to produce any documentation to prove ownership of the motorcycle.
All six were arrested on the scene, and the bakkie believed to have been used in the commission of the crime was seized.
Further investigations confirmed that the motorcycle had been reported stolen in a case registered with Yeoville Police Station.
The recovered motorcycle was subsequently booked in at the Aeroton pound.
JMPD said the arrests form part of ongoing efforts to combat vehicle-related crime and to work closely with private security partners to ensure safer communities across Johannesburg.
