Two murder cases under investigation in Germiston and Primrose

Police in Ekurhuleni are investigating two separate murder cases reported in Germiston and Primrose on July 1.

In the first incident, SAPS officers from Germiston responded to a murder complaint at the corner of Meyer and Simmer streets at approximately 07:01.

Upon arrival, police found paramedics attending to the lifeless body of an unidentified adult male believed to be around 45 years old.

Ekurhuleni District communications officer Nelda Sekgobela said the deceased was found lying on the ground dressed in jeans, a blue jacket, a grey jersey and black safety boots.

According to police, the victim was bleeding from the nose and had sustained injuries to his upper body.

“Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene. The body was later taken to the mortuary for further investigation and identification. No arrests have been made, and the motive for the killing remains unknown,” said Sekgobela.

In a separate incident, Primrose SAPS confirmed that a murder case is also under investigation following an incident at the Marathon informal settlement dumping area.

According to police, the motive behind the killing remains unclear, although it is alleged that the deceased was a sangoma.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the victim or the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“Investigations into both murder cases are ongoing,” said Sekgobela.
