Ezibeleni learners are blessed with sanitary products donation

Learners prepared a mini-exhibition to showcase their creative skills including shoes, caps, and t-shirts that are painted in cultural patterns and colours.

Mahakala Foundation (MF) handed over sanitary products during their launch at Ezibeleni School For Physically Disabled (ESPD) at Khumalo Street, Thokoza, on September 23.

Learners received a donation of sanitary pads, disinfectant wipes and adult disposable underwear.

They also prepared a mini-exhibition to showcase their creative skills which included shoes, caps and t-shirts painted in cultural patterns and colours.

According to the secretary of MF Louisa Masha, the foundation exists to assist young people from underprivileged backgrounds to attain success in their school performance and personal lives.

She said the school serves a very special population of learners that do not always get the attention they need and require.

ESPD principal, Thabang Dagada, said the school appreciates the great gesture from MF, adding that the much-needed donation will go a long way for the children.

“This is not just gifts. When a girl child has sanitary pads, it gives them dignity and those that are incontinent living with a disability are able to move around,” she continued.

“We use the wet wipes mostly when we remove a child from a wheelchair. We sanitize the wheelchair, the desk and hands to prevent infections from spreading,” said Dagada.

A donation of sanitary pads, disinfectant wipes and adult disposable underwear were handed over to Ezibeleni School For Physically Disabled (ESPD).

She thanked MF, citing that it was a wise choice to donate sanitary products as it is about the health of the children.
