Vryburger launches feeding scheme

Using donated non-perishable food items from parents, community members, and local businesses, the team ensures that every child in need receives sustenance on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Vryburger High School launched a feeding scheme on February 9.

The feeding scheme is to ensure learners receive nutritious meals three days a week.

Spearheaded by the school’s deputy principal, Stephanie Diedericks, and educator Fana Moyo, the programme promises to make a significant difference in the lives of learners.

Members of the Idemia team received vegetables from the school’s garden.

Central to the success of this initiative is the donation from Idemia, led by Linda Scheepers and Thulani Masondo.

The company specialises in biometric security solutions, which sponsored a range of appliances essential for the scheme’s operation.

Vryburger High School recently launched a feeding scheme sponsored by Idemia.

These appliances not only streamline the cooking process but also contribute to the efficiency and sustainability of the programme.

Idemia’s corporate social responsibility committee extended its support beyond the provision of equipment.

“They have also sponsored garden tools to facilitate the cultivation of vegetables within the school’s premises.

This approach ensures that the meals served are nourishing.

“A team of 12 educators and administrators, under the guidance of Olivia Louw, have been instrumental in preparing the meals, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to the learners’ welfare.

Grade 12 learners thanked the Idemia team for their contribution.

“Using donated non-perishable food items from parents, community members, and local businesses, the team ensures that every child in need receives sustenance on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays,” said Louw.
