Mental health support group for young adults launched – SADAG

“Young adulthood is a time of major transition and development, often marked by academic or professional responsibilities, changing social dynamics, and high expectations.”

To support young adults (18 to 35) and their mental health, the South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) announced the launch of Jenna and Angelique’s free mental health support group that will launch on March 2.

“Young adulthood is a time of major transition and development, often marked by academic or professional responsibilities, changing social dynamics, and high expectations.

“These factors can contribute to a range of mental health experiences, including stress, anxiety, depression, and feelings of isolation,” said SADAG’s Jane Mashava.

This group aims to provide an environment where young adults can openly discuss their mental health concerns, share experiences, and access valuable resources.

Amber-leigh Schoeman, SADAG’s support group co-ordinator, said, “Support groups aim to create a safe and supportive space for those navigating the complexities and challenges of mental health.

“They foster an understanding environment and build a community that empowers everyone on their journey towards mental wellbeing.”
