In celebration of Women’s Month, the SAPS has shared notable progress made in its fight against GBV and crimes targeting women and children.

• Illegal removal of persons (abduction, kidnapping)

SAPS highlighted the role of forensic social workers, who assist in interviewing young victims and providing expert reports to assist courts in securing fair, informed verdicts.

Leading the charge is Major General Mmantsheke Lekhele, a seasoned female detective overseeing national FCS operations.

“Every conviction brings us one step closer to a safer South Africa for all women and girl children.”
