Germiston gospel artist Sabelo Nocamagu nominated for MTCMA Song of the Year

Gospel musician Sabelo Nocamagu, originally from the Eastern Cape and now based in Germiston, has been nominated at the Mzansi Traditional and Cultural Music Awards. With several albums and past award nods, he continues to make his mark in the gospel industry.

Sabelo Nocamagu is looking to make a name for himself in the gospel industry.

The Germiston resident was recently nominated at the Mzansi Traditional and Cultural Music Awards (MTCMA) 5th Annual for song of the year.

Born in the Eastern Cape, he started his music at the early age of 13.

His love for singing was established in church, and in 2009 he turned professional, with his career taking off with his debut album Vuka Moni.

He admits that it didn’t do well at the time, but he persisted.

His second album, released in 2011 and titled Balibele Ukuthandaza, did better and established his name.

“I got a breakthrough when I released the third album in 2018, which was titled Bizu’Jeso, with songs like Ngivumele, written by the late Lundi Tyamara. The album had 12 songs released by Sinton Music,” said Nocamagu.

“The album allowed me to share stages with the likes of Kholeka, Dumi Mkhokstard, Lusanda, and Bethusile Mqciga.

“In 2019, I got a chance to be nominated at the Ingoma Awards in the category of best newcomer. I was also featured on a well-known TV show, Rhythm City.” said Nocamagu.
