Tebbutt Academy celebrates successful karate grading for 34 members
The academy now shifts its focus to preparing for events in October and November.
There was blood, sweat, and tears at the academy when Tebbutt Academy held an internal grading for members on August 30.
The club celebrated the successful grading of 34 karatekas.
Family, friends, and other club members supported those being graded.
“Our grading is very tense, and the athletes have to work hard for the next belt level,” said kancho Alex Tebbutt.
“Their hard work makes them feel proud when they receive, as they know they have earned them.

“I am impressed with the way the athletes take on each challenge – very determined and ready to prove themselves. It is encouraging.
“Among other challenges, the members were required to show their skills in self-defence, fighting, and kata.
“It is motivating when you see students apply everything we have taught them,” explained Tebbutt.
“We don’t believe in awarding a member a higher-ranked belt when they need more practice and refinement of skills.

“It is for that reason that our members can conquer at tournaments, because they compete at levels for which they are well-equipped.
“Our members did well, and their endurance level is great. I had one karateka grading for a white belt, three for brown belts, and others were grading for green, blue, purple, and orange belts.
“Thank you to the supporters for cheering; it helped the karatekas to keep the momentum going and contributed to the success of the event.”
