Ekurhuleni and Johannesburg teams train for water rescues at Germiston Lake

The City of Ekurhuleni Aquatic team, alongside Johannesburg counterparts, braved the rain on Friday to sharpen water rescue skills at Germiston Lake, completing a 250m swim to the centre buoy.

City of Ekurhuleni Aquatic team, in collaboration with the City of Johannesburg team, braved the rain to upgrade their water rescue skills at Germiston Lake on Friday morning.

The team split into two smaller groups of fifteen and sixteen members each.

They swam approximately 250m to and from the edge to the buoy (water mark ball) in the centre of the lake.

The fastest rescuer completed the course in about eleven and a half minutes, while the slowest took 16 minutes.
