All wheels in motion for Galway fundraising walk this Sunday

Community urged to sign up as countdown begins for language lab fundraiser

With only a few days to go, it is all systems go for the 5km fundraising walk in support of Galway Primary School, taking place on April 12.

Hosted by the Walking the Talk Foundation in partnership with Macsteel, the event aims to raise funds for a new language lab at the school.

Momentum is building as preparations near completion, with construction of the classroom already well underway thanks to early support from donors and partners.

Bedfordview Edenvle News and Germiston City News are partnering with Walking the Talk Foundation as a media partner and will keep the community updated and informed about the event.

Founder and director Dale van Blerk said the initiative will give learners access to a modern, future-focused learning space, enhancing both teaching and learning.

“The day promises to bring together the community and corporate partners in a spirit of unity,” he said.

Organisers are expecting up to 2,500 participants for the walk, which follows a flat and accessible route through residential areas. Limited road closures will be in place for short periods, with security and medical support stationed along the route. Water points will be available, and refreshments will be provided to participants.

Residents are encouraged to register and make final arrangements now as the countdown continues.
