According to a statement released by the City, inspectors discovered a wholesale supermarket operating under unhygienic conditions and allegedly selling food products deemed unfit for human consumption. Some of the items found had reportedly expired several years ago.

Authorities also found that the business was operating with a Certificate of Acceptability that expired in 2015. The establishment, situated along Durandt Road, was immediately shut down.

In a separate action during the same operation, several mobile food traders operating in the Petit area were removed for allegedly failing to comply with food handling and trading regulations.
