WATCH: MECSU back on Germiston streets as strike enters 10th month
MECSU members have returned to the streets of Germiston, continuing their demand for permanent employment within the City of Ekurhuleni after nearly 10 months of strike action.
Members of MECSU have returned to the streets of Germiston on June 10, reigniting their protest against municipal outsourcing as their strike enters its 10th month.
The group continues to call on the City of Ekurhuleni to absorb its members into permanent municipal positions, arguing that outsourcing has left workers without job security, fair wages and access to basic employment benefits.

Protesters say they have remained committed to their demands despite months of industrial action, insisting that the city should prioritise the employment of workers who have been providing services through outsourced arrangements.
The ongoing strike has become one of the longest-running labour disputes in the area, with demonstrators maintaining pressure on the municipality to address their concerns.
MECSU members have vowed to continue their protest until their demands for permanent employment are met.
