Today (August 9) is Women’s Day, a South African public holiday where we celebrate women.
This is one of the days where all the spotlight is on women of different ages and backgrounds, among other things.
People celebrate women for different reasons; community members shared what they value most about women.
Michael Zulu: “I am humbled by women’s caring natures and also appreciate a woman who has respect for others.”
Emma De Camillis: “I value women’s patience and their high level of endurance; they have the ability to endure a lot.”
Norman Mululuma: “I value a woman’s kind heart and their ability to forgive and smile, even when they are hurting.”
Ellias Mahlobo: “Among other things, I value how they naturally know how to take care of us. They are amazing.”
Henry Christowitz: “I value everything that my wife does for me; she is amazing and very good to me all the time.”
Joel Ledwaba: “A woman’s beauty and happiness is what I value the most. They deserve to be spoilt, always.”
