December 1 was World Aids Day. We asked Aarum Institute that covers a wide range of activities from programmatic implementation and technical assistance for HIV/Aids to TB prevention if they think enough is being done to eradicate the pandemic.

“Yes, we have door-to-door campaigns encouraging people to get tested and testing kits are provided to people to test themselves. There are many outreach programmes for people to access information.”

“More action is needed. There are still people who don't know their status. Testing should be compulsory and each and every household must get tested.”

“Yes, people are being educated and there are a number of community-based organisations which are helping. After getting tested you are also not alone as there is support for others to get tested.”

“More can be done. Teenagers who are in their adolescent years are afraid to get tested. They hesitate to visit healthcare facilities to get tested.”
