Germiston drifters set to compete in September

Cambees Midas SA Drift Championships happening at the The Rock Raceway.

Round Four of the Cambees Midas SA Drift Championships gets under way at the renowned Rock Raceway circuit, in Brakpan, on September 5.

Germiston drifters Denis Palm, JP Taljaard and Marietjie Baarnard will be among the favourites to look out for.

“The slideways drift masters will take up the gauntlet laid down by the judges as they try impress them with their style, flair and sideways antics, without losing the drift,” said Abie Sada, marketing manager and commentator at the Rock Raceway.

Drifters from all over are expected to make their way to the circuit, to take part in the fourth round of the championships.

“Bring your ‘one more time’ banners along, together with your friends, family and neighbours, to relish in the sideways Milwaukee as the drifters purposefully smoke and shred tyres,” added Sada.

Supporters can make their way to the circuit from 10am, when gates open, and witness a whole day’s practise session before the main event begins at 4pm.

There is an entry fee that varies for children and adults.
