Another win for Elsburg despite a challenged offensive line
Elsburg Rugby Cub faced the Katlehong Tigers in a riveting game on Saturday.
Elsburg had another successful home game when they clashed with Katlehong Tigers on Saturday at the Elspark Sports Grounds.
Although the skies were gloomy and the rainfall seemed imminent, the game went off without a hitch and the sun came out to play within a few minutes of kick-off.

On arrival, the Katlehong team sang uplifting sports songs and both teams were in high spirits.
In the first half, Elsburg dominated through the field leaving a fast-paced Katlehong without enough tries to account for their speed.
Tensions began to flare up but teammates and coaches reinforced discipline on their players before a fight broke out.

When the half-time whistle blew Elsburg was in the lead 17-3.
Katlehong only managed to concede a penalty.
During the second half, Katlehong’s defence was very strong. It proved the lashing their coach Tumelo Moloi had given them during half-time had inspired them to play better.
Elsburg had their work cut out for them to get through the defensive lines, as they continuously failed to go past Katlehong.
The game grew even more intense when a fight broke out between two players from each side, while there were also a lot of instances when the paramedics had to escort injured players off the field. One to be noted was the knee injury Micheal Williams suffered and had to be rushed to hospital.
Lacking focus, Katlehong’s defence soon cracked and Elsburg scored two more tries in the second half.
The final score was Elsburg 27, Katlehong 15 and the player of the match was Willem van der Heever and the eighth man was Peter Scheeper.
