Katlehong model aspires to claim the Miss Glam SA title
Aspiring model Nolufefe Makhohliso from Tsolo Section, Katlehong, has set her heart on the Miss Glam South Africa 2022 title.
After reaching the semi-finals, the 21-year-old self-taught model is yearning for the MG SA title and aims to inspire young girls.
According to Makhohliso, she started modelling in 2021 because she did not have enough information about the industry.
“I am a self-taught model. I use platforms like YouTube to train by watching channels like Cristal Clues and Zabelo Hlabisa. “I was inspired by Nokuphiwa Khumalo, a girl from Kwa Nongoma, KwaZulu-Natal. She does not let where she comes from dim her dreams and has achieved so much in the modelling industry,” said Makhohliso.
Besides focusing on MG SA she is also involved in community activities with the Little Girl Arise NPO where she has a campaign which provides girls who attend school with sanitary pads.
She said part of their tasks as MG SA semi-finalists is to complete online activities. “These activities are geared around them receiving points to progress in the contest, build a personal brand, and develop and grow ourselves into leadership,” she explained.
“I have a strong passion for woman empowerment and young girls. My dream is to see young girls have self-confidence and feel good about who they are,” she continued.
“I noticed that so many young girls do not have self-confidence, which leads to suicide in most cases and, as a MG SA semi-finalist, I want to change that. My goal now as one of the semi-finalists to make it through to the finals.”
