Primrose’s Koopman edged out in Survivor semifinal thriller
Thysse now advances to the final, where he will face Edenvale’s Roarke Knapp, who defeated Botswana’s Kagiso Bagwasi in the other semifinal of the four-man series.
Primrose’s Shervantaigh Koopman narrowly came off second best in his “Survivor” junior middleweight tournament semifinal against Alberton’s Brandon Thysse.
In one of the most thrilling bouts staged at Emperors Palace recently, Koopman, despite sending Thysse to the canvas in both the second and fifth rounds, was unable to secure the victory, with the judges scoring the fight 94–93, 95–93, and 95–92 in favour of the Alberton boxer.

With the unanimous points decision win, Thysse now advances to the final, where he will face Edenvale’s Roarke Knapp, who defeated Botswana’s Kagiso Bagwasi in the other semifinal of the four-man series.
