Loyiso Matsha: Former champion coaching Germiston’s future tennis stars
Professional tennis coach Loyiso Matsha coaches young talent in Germiston.
Tennis coach Loyiso Matsha passes on his passion for the sport to the next generation by coaching children at the Germiston Stadium.
Dedicated to the sport, he gives back to the community and inspires young players to develop their skills and love for the game.
Matsha, who first took up tennis 57 years ago at the age of eight.
His tennis journey started in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape.
In 1976 and 1977, he and his brother, Dr Vuyani Matsha, won the South African National Lawn Tennis Union (SANLTU) U18 boys’ doubles title in Atteridgeville, Tshwane. The next year, Matsha claimed the SANLTU U18 boys’ singles title.

SA black newspaper journalists even voted him the Citrus sportsman of the month runner-up for June.
Now retired from competitive tennis, Matsha coaches children as a community service. He funds the programme without sponsors, doing so with pride and commitment.
Matsha is a qualified professional tennis coach, accredited by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), ensuring world-class coaching standards.
Parents interested in having their children learn tennis can contact him at the Germiston Stadium on Saturdays from 10:30 to 13:30 and Sundays from 12:30 to 14:00.
Matsha is passionate about developing young tennis players and growing the game at the grassroots level.
