Tebbutt Academy strikes gold at Gauteng Championships
They walked away with an impressive 30 gold medals, 20 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals.
The Tebbutt Karate Academy delivered an outstanding performance at the Gauteng Provincial Championships held in Lenasia recently.
They walked away with an impressive 30 gold medals, 20 silver medals, and two bronze medals.
The academy also celebrated success at the K1 Ascension Development Series competition, where the Bulldogs team, made up of three boys and one girl, won gold.

The team consisted of team leader Tanika Goncalves Hage, Caleb Stoltz, Aiden Stoltz, and Logan Peters.
Out of the academy’s 18 participants at the championships, 14 competed in the junior division while four represented the senior division.
“The club performed exceptionally well, with the ladies particularly dominating against stronger opponents. The academy’s youngest member, Sebastian (5), proudly walked away with three medals, one gold, one silver, and one bronze,” said kancho Alex Tebbutt.
“Training ahead of competitions has become more intense, with a strong focus on stamina, resilience, and conditioning for both juniors and seniors.”
“The club also continues to empower women through dedicated self-defense classes, while Saturday conditioning sessions allow students to work on strength and fitness using training equipment,” said Tebbutt.

The Tebbutt Karate Academy expressed gratitude to Afrikaanse Hoërskool Germiston for providing the academy with a new hall, which has enabled the club to grow and continue fulfilling its mission while creating a better training environment for both junior and senior athletes.
The academy is now preparing for its upcoming tournaments, which include the MASA National Championship and Festival taking place from June 26–28 at the Joni Bach Sports Centre, Pretoria.
