Classic bikes come to town

Don't miss the 1 000 Bike Show coming to town soon.

The Classic Motorcycle Club will hold its annual “The 1 000 Bike Show” on July 5 and 6.

The popular event takes place at Germiston High School, Rand Airport Road, from 8am on both days.

This show is the biggest of its kind in Southern Africa and allows the public to view motorcycles dating back from the early 1900s to the present day, including racing machines from all factions of the sport.

The motorcycles on show are in pristine condition and many are very rare items, not only in South Africa but worldwide.

There will also be lots of food, drink and entertainment available throughout the weekend.

“Apart from the high school, we support various charities, which participate by selling books and running food stalls,” said Hamish Ireland, chairman of the Classic Motorcycle Club.

“All takings go towards whatever cause they are representing.”

An entrance fee will be charged.
