Really Good Weekends heat up with Mafikizolo

Relax and enjoy good music at Emperors Palace, this Sunday.

Emperors Palace, in association with PHUMZZ Events and Projects, will fight the winter blues with sizzling hot African fusion entertainment on July 27.

The third instalment of the monthly Really Good Weekends music series will feature award-winning duo Mafikizolo in the new and improved Theatre of Marcellus.

Really Good Weekends is aimed at mature, urban music enthusiasts, with music aficionados being able to enjoy live performances by award winning bands in a comfortable, safe and relaxed environment, supported by unmatched production quality.

With a career spanning more than 17 years, the multi-platinum selling Mafikizolos, Theo Kgosinkwe and Nhlanhla Nciza will perform various hits from their eight albums.

The talented artists also boast a multitude of collaborations with local and international musicians, including the likes of DJ and producer Louie Vega and jazz legend, Hugh Masekela.

Even after losing their third band member, Tebogo Madingoane, in 2004, Mafikizolo charged on, winning multiple awards and performing all over the African continent and the world.

The band’s vigour and robust percussion “bounce” is present in songs like “Khona” and “Happiness” that have taken them to number one on most radio stations across the country and become crossover hits among black and white audiences.

Guests can expect a thrilling experience of jubilation, dance and song from one of SA’s hottest exports.

The doors will open at 2pm and the show will start at 2.30pm.
