Arty T-shirts take centre stage
Art will be celebrated in the form of the T-shirt Expo, this Saturday.
The mind of an artist is like a gold mine, forever producing rare, yet profoundly invaluable, commodities.
On Saturday (March 5), the metro’s Springs Art Gallery will host the T-shirt Expo, which is the brainchild of a group of innovative designers and artists – Blaq Mind Urban Culture.
The expo will take place from noon to 5pm.
More than 20 T-shirts will be exhibited, using the medium of graphic tees through visual references and messages.
The expo promises to be a celebration of street art, graffiti and photography, by using T-shirts as a canvas.
“The T-shirt Expo is a celebration of sheer talent and skill, therefore, as the metro, we encourage contemporary arts lovers and young people to come in numbers to witness innovation and be inspired,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe.
The T-shirts will be sold or auctioned to the general public at the event.
Patrons will also enjoy talks and walkabouts inside the gallery, music and fashion.
Food and beverages will be sold at the venue.
