Stage set for 2016 Mmino Wa Clap n Tap Music Awards

Metro hosts indigenous traditional gospel music awards.

In celebrating and sustaining Africa’s indigenous traditional gospel music, the metro is set to reward excellence in this genre through the Mmino Wa Clap n Tap Music Awards.

The event takes place from 7.30pm to 11pm on June 18, in the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace.

A total of 19 categories will see various choirs from across the country being recognised for their dedication in perfecting their craft.

The glittering occasion is set to be entertaining, with well-known traditional gospel groups, such as last year’s winners, Letjwe La Motheo Gospel Choir from Tembisa, sharing the stage with Majalefa A Morena, Mangeloi A Kgotso Gospel Choir and Balopolloa Ba Morena, all the way from Lesotho.

Nominees for this year’s awards include Clap n Tap gospel choirs, choristers, promoters, conductors, gospel TV programmes, print media, gospel radio shows and supporters.
