Kwesta celebrates in style
Among the artists who performed were Kgotso Sweetkid Mokgale, Lesego Black Lez Moiloa, Nico and Nekko.
The South African songwriter and rapper from Katlehong, Senzo “Kwesta” Vilakazi, held his birthday celebrations at Mlando Restaurant in Katlehong.
The event started on Friday, August 26 and ran until Sunday, August 28.
The artist’s manager, Kombelani Koza, said, “Kwesta decided to celebrate his 28th birthday in Katlehong because he grew up in the area, even though he was not born there. He felt he must do something for the community that treated him like one of their own during his upbringing.”
Koza said his artist was so happy about the way the event turned out, as there was no report of any chaos or violence from the supporters. “There was a little bit of drama with some of the supporters trying to come to the venue with fake tickets. However with the help of security, we managed to get the situation under control,” said Koza.

Kwesta made it clear that he wanted to do this for the community a very long time ago but, because of his busy schedule, he could not. “I planned this for a long time because I wanted to clear this weekend for this event to take place here,” said Kwesta.
Kwesta was born on August 11, 1988.
