In a fun-filled soccer thriller held at the Vosloorus Extension 4 Sports Ground on Saturday, 3 September, Bayern FC dominated the game with a 5-4 win over rivals Marimba FC.
There match started swiftly with Bayern FC taking the spotlight and taking the lead remarkably in the first half of the match by netting three goals, with Qinishani Mbatha scoring two goals and Bonginkosi Moloi adding the third goal.
Even when the second half commenced, Bayern FC proved to be a handful for the trailing team, dominating ball possession, Soso Faniswa scoring a goal in the 59th minute.
Marimba FC coach Bongani Bodiba, with pressure mounting, introduced a super-substitute, Luyand Bhalane, who snatched two goals for the trailing team, Thereafter Marimba FC looked more revived and scored their third goal.
A few minutes later Bayern increased their score line to five.

In a post-match interview, Marimba FC coach Bongani Bodiba said, “My players tried hard to fight back in the second half but Bayern surely had a better game plan than ours. They deserved to win.” He added, “Our main goal in hosting such games on Saturdays is to keep the boys away from the ills of the township, and we really need sponsorship.”
