Moleba and Mvelase give back to the community of Vosloorus
Moleba’s Café, in partnership with Scotty’s Funeral Parlour, held a special event with the aim of giving back to the community of Vosloorus.
The event themed “All Black Night of Soul and RnB” took place at the Vosloorus Old Age Home on June 30.
Tshepo Moleba, the owner of Moleba’s Café, said it is part of their Business Social Responsibility Initiative to give back to the community that supports their businesses.
“We have decided to do something special for all the community members like donating 54 blankets to the Vosloorus Old Age Home. We also gave them slippers and blankets to keep them warm this winter as well as groceries,” said Moleba.
In addition, Moleba and Lunga Mvelase, the owner of Scotty’s Funeral Parlour, organised a special surprise birthday celebration for the two community members of Vosloorus. Gogo Rashaba turned 100 years old and Daniel Koeshe 105 years.
While the birthday celebrations were hosted at the old age home, the All Black Night of Soul and RnB event took place on the street with the Vosloorus community treated to RnB and Soul music by Wilson ‘B’ Nkosi, DJ Lebo, DJ Mathe, DJ Steven Khoza, DJ Bambo Johnson and DJ Bandile.
Mvelase thanked the community for participating in the event and for attending in their numbers.
“If it was not for you supporting our business none of this would have happened,” said Mvelase.
Gogo Rashaba thanked Moleba and Mvelase.
“This winter will be the warmest winter they ever had at the home,” said Gogo Rashaba.
She added the reason for her old age is because she respected older people and her body.
“I respected my body because when I grew up I knew that my body is a temple of God. It is not that I was better than other people and that my parents were better but because I chose to respect other people and to take care of my body,” she concluded.
