Covid-19: Active number of cases in SA stands at 57 626
The recovery rate remains 88.6 per cent

South Africa currently has 57 626 active Covid-19 cases.
Statistics, dated September 8 and released by the Department of Health, shows a drop in the number of deaths from previous daily reports released earlier this week.

Yesterday, 82 Covid-19 releated deaths were reported bringing the total number of deaths to 15 086.
KwaZulu-Natal reported 27 deaths, Gauteng 15, Eastern Cape nine, Free State six, Norhern Cape five and Western Cape 20.

SA’s recovery rate remains steady at 88.6 per cent and 1 079 new cases were identified.
An additional 12 213 tests were conducted bringing the total number of tests to 3 821 162.
Gauteng remains the hot spot with 33,3 per cent of cases.
The province has 21 133 active cases followed by the Free State with 12 227.
Active cases in the remaining pronvinces are Eastern Cape 1 077, KwaZulu-Natal 10 261, Limpopo 588, Mpumalanga 865, North West 3 116 and Western Cape 3 775.
Gauteng reported 188 367 recoveries followed by KwaZulu-Natal with 102 474 recoveries.
