EMPD busts Eden Park suspect found with narcotics

Members of the EMPD attending to a noise complaint arrested a male suspect found with narcotics on October 11.

Upon arrival, the officers found eight males inside an alleged illegally operated tavern in Eden Park who were then searched.

According to Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD spokesperson, the 29-year-old suspect was found with six ziplocks of khat valued at R300 and R26.50 cash was seized.

“The house owner, who claimed they were having a get-together with friends and following Covid-19 regulations, got away with a verbal warning.

“The suspect facing charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substance was detained at Eden Park Police Station,” he said.

The detainee is expected to appear at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
