Lawbreakers arrested by EMPD
Four suspects were arrested for reckless and negligent driving and one for interference.

EMPD Speed Enforcement Unit members arrested five suspects in Alberton on March 20.
Between 8.15am and 9.05am the officers were monitoring Swartkoppies Road when they arrested three male drivers in sedans exceeding the 70km/h speed limit. The drivers, which clocked speeds of 101, 109 and 122km/h respectively, gave excuses of being late for work and church.
At 10am the 48-year-old female driver of a Kia sedan with a child passenger was stopped and handcuffed for speeding at 103km/h. She alleged they were late for a dance practice.
At the same time, a white Ford Bantam with a 61-year-old male driver stopped. The driver, who claimed he was the husband of the suspect, alighted his vehicle and started calling the officers names and aggressively instructing officers to the release the female driver. He was, however, arrested by the officers for interfering with their duties.
The four arrested drivers were taken to Brackendowns Police Station, where they were charged with reckless and negligent driving alongside the 61-year-old suspect charged with interference.
