Sharon Morrison, mother of Jade-Lee, has started a blog called Justice for Jade-Lee Morrison in which she updates people about the case and the court proceedings.

Sharon was also recently the subject of a documentary about forgiveness that will be broadcasted in 2022.

The death of teenager Jade-Lee (17) shocked the community when on December 14, 2019, she died in a car crash on the corner of De Wiekus Road and Blackthorne Street in Van Riebeek Park.

The Express previously reported that the crash happened only a few hundred metres away from the family’s Glen Fauna Street home.

Sharon and her daughter Jade-Lee were on their way home in separate cars when tragedy struck.

At the time Jade-Lee was in the car with her friend Natasha Greyvenstein (27).

The local community banded together to help raise funds for Jade-Lee’s funeral.

The CPF and Norkem Park SAPS helped to raise funds when they banded together with Peter’s Garden of Lights in Van Riebeeck Park.

The Express recently spoke to Sharon about her daughter and how she remembers her.

“She was a beautiful soul and so happy go lucky, with a big circle of friends,” said Sharon.

The court case against the accused started in February this year but no court proceeding has started as the defence keeps on asking for a delay due to various reasons.

The accused will again appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate court on August 24.
