Lesedi Community Centre holds insightful leadership session

“If you want to change Heidelberg, dump the toxic thinking, stand together and do things differently.”

It is said that leadership is an action, not a position. In a forever-changing world, it has become vital for leaders to take action in their communities.

With this thought in mind, the Lesedi Community Centre (LCC) hosted an insightful morning of Purposeful Leadership on May 17 and invited all businesses and community leaders to attend.

The LCC invited experts from Credentia-Pro, Finwell and WealthTec to bring motivation and inspiration to a changing Heidelberg.

“With change comes opportunity, and with opportunity comes growth. It would be a shame if we could not change that growth into prosperity for all,” said Lezanne Scholy, a social worker from the LCC, when she welcomed everyone.

Fernando Makhani from WealthTec opened the floor by saying the LCC is at the centre of the community, and through the leadership workshops they do, they guide the leaders of today and plant seeds from which future leaders will prosper.

Fernando Makhani from WealthTec opened the floor at the LCC leadership session on May 17 by saying the LCC is at the centre of the community and that leadership workshops create leaders for the future.

His business partner, Rudi Geldenhuys, said any journey leads to a destination and that achievement in anything only happens when you stop thinking and start doing.

“A community is stronger together. Through collaboration, inclusivity, learning and networking, a community can stand strong and embrace challenges together, and that is where opportunity is born,” he said, adding that only applied knowledge is power.

“If you want to change Heidelberg, dump the toxic thinking, stand together and do things differently.”
Geldenhuys offered to host another leadership training session at the LCC and hopes to see more business leaders from Heidelberg and Ratanda.

Rudi Geldenhuys from WealthTec said HOPE in leadership stands for Holistic – Opportunity – Purposeful plan – Economic success.

This forms part of the key focus areas of the LCC – uplift, assist and develop.

In partnership with Credentia-Pro, the LCC offers help for community members, leaders and small businesses and invites anyone to hear what the experts say about enabling the community and businesses to build and grow together, creating hope and prosperity for all.
